Organized and managed over two dozen large events, coordinating all details and ensuring events ran smoothly; events ranged from intimate brunches for 20, to themed party for up to 1400, to invite-only dinner with celebrated actors and festival upper-management. Coordinated all event details with sponsors, vendors, and venues. Managed volunteers and staff, and monitored events on-site to ensure quality and service.
Troubleshot and resolved problems in a calm, professional, and timely manner. Negotiated donations, appeased consultants, and maintained Sundance image at all events.
Budgeted and tracked planned events, meeting strict budget guidelines. Documented all correspondence, attendance, and issues of all parties planned for future reference. Provided support to all Festival staff, as needed. (Work was often physical in nature, requiring standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting and carrying various heavy items.)
Also, worked as Reel Studio Volunteer in January 2003, 50 hours per week. Assisted with studio programs, including Q & As, filmmaker presentations, student presentations, etc. Organized and administered setup, teardown, hospitality, ushering, and focusing discussions. Recruited to organize 2002 Golden Gate Bridging with only two weeks to go before event. Finalized permits with National Parks Service, The Presidio Trust, Golden Gate Bridge, CalTrans and secured appropriate insurance related to those permits. Recruited and trained volunteers. Finalized all logistics. Almost 4000 girls and women from across the country attended event.
As Assistant Camp Director, supervised 4 program specialists and 3 unit supervisors. (Each unit supervisor oversaw 3-4 unit staff, who in turn oversaw campers.) Trained in Safety Management and Emergency Preparation. As camp was located on public land, safety issues were paramount and complex. Hired and evaluated staff, disciplining them as necessary.
As Weekend Event Staff, served as Workshop Leader, Unit Leader, and Activity Judge for variety of events located from Santa Cruz to San Rafael to South Tahoe. Planned events, gathered RFPs, stocked supplies within budget, and led activities, following Girl Scout safety standards.
